STEPPS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TRUST
Bringing together the communities of Stepps, Cardowan and Millerston
Stepps Community Development Trust wants to spread our message that each individual can play a part in building a stronger community in Stepps. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the area we live in.
Stepps Community Development Trust (Stepps CDT)
Began in February 2020 as an organisation aiming to achieve social, economic and environmental regeneration of Stepps and the surrounding area. Stepps CDT wants to provide real benefit to local people through delivery of local projects, whilst being a financially sustainable organisation.
Stepps CDT was established in response to the Stepps Community Action Plan. This was developed thanks to an Awards for All grant from the National Lottery supported by Stepps and District Community Council. There was wide spread engagement with the Stepps Community Survey in 2019 through online surveys and gathering of views at open meetings and community events. The resulting Community Action Plan for Stepps is the basis of the proposed activities for Stepps CDT.
Stepps CDT is a membership organisation open to residents of Stepps (Postcode begins G33 6..). Membership is available for a one off £1 subscription per person. Junior memberships for 12 to 16 year olds are also available. The larger the membership, the more Stepps CDT can reflect the priorities of the community, particularly when approaching partner organisations for support/ grants.
