Stepps area has it's own Community Action Plan! Published after consultation with residents throughout Stepps, Cardowan and Millerston during summer 2019, we have a route map to improving the area we live in. Suggested projects include:
Creating a new sports and leisure hub in Stepps
Upgrade local play parks
Set up an environmental community action group
Establish activities for young people
Establish activities and events for older residents
Have more community activities/ seasonal events
The Community Action Plan was developed thanks to funding from The National Lottery Awards for All and the support of Stepps and District Community Council.
Stepps Community Development Trust (Stepps CDT) has formed in 2020 to take some of these ideas forward.
Stepps CDT is a membership organisation open to residents living in the area of Stepps, Cardowan, Millerston, Steppshill, Crowwood Grange and Frankfield Loch- anywhere with a G33 6.. postcode. The more members, the greater the voice for the residents of Stepps. Lifetime membership costs £1.
